Designation Certificates Required for Master & CIPC
February 2019
A letter of good standing is NOT sufficient for the Master or CIPC, a designation certificate is now required.
Members were previously advised that SARIPA has been certified by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a professional body and that SARIPA had registered two professional designations with SAQA, namely "Insolvency Practitioner", as well as "Business Restructuring Professional".
With effect from 1 July 2018, members of SARIPA who require SARIPA to certify their competency for purposes of the panel of the Master of the High Court and in order to take appointments as liquidators and trustees will have to apply to SARIPA for the designation "Insolvency Practitioner".
Likewise, members who require SARIPA to certify their competency for purposes of accreditation with CIPC for appointments as business rescue practitioners will have to apply to SARIPA for the designation "Business Restructuring Professional".
