SARIPA's Northern Region held its first hybrid Conference of 2023 on the 24th May in Johannesburg and online.

CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
1. INSOLVENCY
The conference began with a convenient high-level overview on SCA Case Law dealing with Insolvency - presented by Professor Kathleen van der Linde.
2. BUSINESS RESCUE
Followed by a discussion on the latest SCA case dealing with unilateral amendment of an adopted business rescue plan, and whether or not it is permissable for a business rescue practitioner to unilaterally amend an adopted business rescue plan post adoption - presented by Advocate Myburgh (one of the counsel on the team that led the appeal to the SCA)
3. BANK FAILURES
And finally, our closing speaker on bank failures around the world. Dealing with why, inter alia, whether similar problems are, can or should be experienced by South African banks. An insightful overview and discussion - presented by Kevin Hoff of BDO.
4. NETWORKING
