Message to Northern Region Members
15 June 2020
Dear Northern Region SARIPA members
Sometimes they say no news is good news but in these challenging and changing times, being informed is key to one’s wellbeing and survival.
On that score, it’s amazing how much smaller the world has become overnight, with Webinars, Team Meetings and the like bringing people from near and far together on internet-based platforms that many of us never knew existed. Thank goodness for all these technological advancements which have at least allowed us to stay in touch, albeit so remotely.
That being said, SARIPA’s Northern Region Committee would very much like to keep up with this new trend of using web-based platforms for hosting educational workshops on Insolvency and Business Rescue related topics that members are possibly grappling with or need refreshers on. Some ideas for topics are currently being considered by the committee, but we would value your input on what it is you would like to know more about.
Please send us your thoughts or suggestions and we’ll try our best to get some experts to share their knowledge and views.
On a separate note, the Northern Region Committee recently had a meeting with SARIPA’s CEO, Ms Rene Bekker, where several important issues were raised and discussed. Of significance is that Ms Bekker has invited members to let her know about practical problems they are experiencing with the offices of the Master of the High Court in any jurisdiction, which Ms Bekker is prepared to address directly with the Acting Chief Master. We are very grateful to Ms Bekker for this pro-active approach.
Therefore, you are invited to send us an e-mail and we will gladly send the complaint/query onto Ms Bekker for further attention.
Stay safe and well.
Kindest regards
MONICA COWIN
NORTHERN REGION SECRETARY
