Key findings: P0043 - Statistics of Liquidations and insolvencies, August 2020

The total number of liquidations increased by 6,3% in the three months ended August 2020 compared with the three months ended in August 2019. A year-on-year increase of 29,5% was recorded in August 2020. Voluntary liquidations increased by 55 cases while compulsory liquidations decreased by 3 cases.  The total number of liquidations decreased by 13,8% in the first eight months of 2020 compared with the first eight months of 2019.

The estimated number of insolvencies decreased by 66,8% in the three months ended July 2020 compared with the three months ended in July 2019. There was a year-on-year decrease of 69,9% in July 2020. Seasonally adjusted insolvencies decreased by 21,1% in July 2020 compared with June 2020. This followed month-on-month changes of 128,0% in June 2020 and 455,6% in May 2020.
