DoJ & Master's Office Meeting

I had the privilege of attending a Zoom meeting yesterday evening [19 Nov] with Deputy Minister, Mr. Jeffery and the Chief Master, Adv. Mafojane.

Representatives of the Gauteng Attorney’s Association, Tygerberg Attorney’s Association, Cape Town Attorney’s Association, SAICA, LSSA and FISA were in attendance.

The Deputy Minister said that it is anticipated that the Draft Insolvency Bill will be published at the end of February 2021 whereafter stakeholders will have the opportunity to consult thereon.

The automation of the Master Offices is receiving attention which will assist with the service delivery issues encountered at the moment.

Adv. Mafojane assured us that there is a commitment to resolve the issues experienced by our members. A follow-up meeting will be held in January 2021 to review the progress and I will revert.
