Deloitte is the leading global professional services firm with offices all around the globe comprising over 1500 restructuring professionals. The Deloitte South Africa Restructuring Services team relaunched in late 2019 and has continued to grow from strength to strength amid the COVID-19 crisis. Given the year that 2020 was, it seemed fitting that in early 2021 Deloitte relaunched their Restructuring Survey – unpacking not only the evolution of business rescue, but also, importantly how the impact of 2020 has been handled by all stakeholders in our industry, the direction that our industry is moving in as a result of COVID-19 and understanding some of the key themes and emerging trends.
Jo Mitchell-Marais (host)
Jo leads the Restructuring Services practice at Deloitte and has more than 15 years Restructuring experience, both local and International. Jo has previously led Restructuring teams in Financial Institutions before returning to her advisory roots, having previously worked at a Big 4 Restructuring practice in London. Jo is a qualified chartered accountant and is currently completing her GIPC through INSOL International.
Gregor Böttcher
Gregor joined the Deloitte Team in 2019 and has 10 years of restructuring industry experience across the South African and European markets, with a focus on Germany, both as an operational restructuring consultant supporting CROs and as a restructuring advisor as part of the Big 4. His experience covers the advising of stressed and distressed clients, especially in the industrial, recycling and metal sectors, in the areas of restructuring and turnaround, liquidity forecasting and management as well as stakeholder management.
Dakalo Maliga
Dakalo is a qualified chartered accountant and is a senior manager in the Deloitte Restructuring Services team, having joined in June 2020 Dakalo brings a wealth of experience in private equity and banking across many industries.
Thulani Komane
Thulani, a qualified chartered accountant, is a manager in the Deloitte Restructuring Services team focused on the Financial Services and the Energy, Resources and Industrial sectors within our client groups. Thulani completed he’s chartered accountancy articles within the Financial Services sub-division of the Deloitte Audit practice.
Legateng Thoka
Legateng is a qualified CA (SA) a manager in the Deloitte Restructuring Services team. Legateng specializes in organisational restructuring and turnaround services together with the complex Entity Priority Models. Legateng has played a key role in restructuring services assignments in the construction, retail, agriculture and telecommunications sectors.
Savannah Jutronich
Savannah is a Junior Consultant in the Financial Advisory Graduate Program with Deloitte. Savannah completed her B.Com Honours degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management at the University of Cape Town, in 2019 and is a CFA Level III candidate in May 2021.
