Pilot Project: Dedicated Insolvency Court

We are delighted to inform you that a pilot dedicated Insolvency Court will commence on 14 April, the first day of Term 2.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in our profession, providing due recognition to the commercial imperative of expedition. The dedicated court will facilitate quicker turnaround times while operating within the broader framework of the existing litigation model.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Deputy Judge President Sutherland for championing this cause, his enthusiasm, support, and guidance throughout this process is greatly appreciated. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Haroon Laher, Colin Strime, Adv. Graham Girdwood SC, Adv. Barry Gilbert SC and Adv. Chris Gibson for their time and effort in finalizing the details of this initiative.

We believe this development will greatly enhance efficiency in insolvency and business rescue matters and look forward to its impact on our professional landscape.
