Michelle Davis
Special Asset Management Principal:
Absa Corporate and Investment Bank
With more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, Michelle’s expertise spans debt advisory, restructuring, and credit risk management. She specializes in turnaround strategies, workouts and distressed debt restructuring for distressed clients.
Michelle began her career at Ernst & Young, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. After completing her articles, she spent three years in the firm’s International Tax and Transfer Pricing division while simultaneously completing her postgraduate studies in Taxation.

Matshediso Mongale
Restructuring and Recovery Executive:
Standard Bank
For the past 6 years, Matshediso has managed distressed and non-performing matters in South Africa and across the African Continent. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
Matshediso has over 2 decades of work experience in the auditing and financial services sector and is a member of SARIPA. His 15 years of banking experience includes finance, strategy enablement, investment banking and credit risk management.

Celia van Niekerk
Turnaround Specialist:
Development Bank of Southern Africa
Celia van Niekerk is a seasoned finance and restructuring professional with over 30 years of experience across commerce, investment, business and development finance banking.
She has led national teams in managing distressed debt portfolios and concluding numerous complex restructurings across various industries.
Celia is renowned for her innovative solutions in turnaround management, through her deep understanding of formal and informal restructuring mechanisms, legal acumen and stakeholder negotiation skills.
A respected member of SARIPA and other industry bodies, Celia has also shared her insights as a speaker at international conferences in Vienna, Helsinki, and Botswana.
