Dealing with People in Difficult Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Situations
- looking at the psychology behind individuals in distressed corporate situations and how best to deal with them.
Wednesday, 08 June 2022 @ 15h00
Our guests from Farber, a leading financial & business advisory firm in Canada that specializes in insolvency and restructuring, will share insights that will be helpful to SARIPA Young Bloods. As insolvency practitioners and lawyers, we often find ourselves working with people in difficult and emotionally charged situations. This means that, to be successful, we not only need to manage the technical side of restructuring, we must effectively engage with and manage the human factor. Clinical Psychologist and facilitator, Barry Pokroy, will introduce you to a psychological model, insights, and skills to help you engage with people more effectively. This will help improve the outcome of all your interpersonal interactions—both professional and personal. The session will include time for Q & A.
BARRY POKROY is a partner of Farber and founder of Circle & Square, Farber’s emotional intelligence learning and development practice. Barry’s in-depth knowledge and experience has allowed him to adapt the insights of psychological theory to the demands of the corporate environment.
ALLAN NACKAN co-leads the restructuring group at Farber and has been involved in a wide range of restructurings, including international cases such as Steinhoff International and Nortel Networks. He will share his experiences and how Circle & Square’s insights impact what we do at Farber.
